As a home seller, preparing for a home inspection is an important step in the process of selling your home. Here are some steps you can take to prepare:

  1. Clean and declutter your home: A clean and uncluttered home can help make a good impression on the inspector and potential buyers.

  2. Repair any obvious issues: Before the inspection, address any obvious problems in your home, such as leaky faucets, loose doorknobs, or broken windows. This will show that you take pride in your home and want to present it in the best possible condition.

  3. Make sure utilities are on: Ensure that the electricity, water, gas, and any other necessary utilities are turned on for the inspection.

  4. Provide access to all areas: The inspector will need access to all areas of your home, including the attic, crawlspace, and any outbuildings. Make sure that these areas are accessible and free of clutter.

  5. If you have to be home during the inspection, do not hover over the home inspector or be distracting to them. This can make the inspector's job more difficult and also cause the inspection to take much longer than needed.

  6. Review the inspection report: After the inspection, review the report thoroughly and address any concerns or issues that were raised. If necessary, make any repairs or improvements that were recommended by the inspector.

By taking these steps, you can ensure that your home is in the best possible condition for the home inspection and that the process goes smoothly.
